The Stages Of Our Life
When we are born, we receive
on of life's greatest gifts-our guardian angel. Through the years, our angel stays
steadfast, offering just the right amount of support as we proceed through the passages of
life.
When a baby is born...she receives a guardian angel who will guide her forever. At this
stage, the baby is too young to pray for herself, to call upon her angel, so the angel
proceeds without being asked. This angel loves the infant unconditionally and is with her
at all times. A baby's angel is the one who helps steady her with her first steps. Her
guardian angel give the child a boost of confidence as she struggles to overcome an
obstacle or learn a new skill. Her angel keeps her company through the night, calming her
fears and bringing happy dreams.
As the baby's grows into childhood...his guardian angel becomes a playmate and constant
companion. Did you ever wonder why so many children talk to an "imaginary"
friend? Perhaps this is part of a deepening relationship with their guardian angels, whose
presence is felt, or even seen and heard, only by the trusting child. The angel delights
in the child's growth, exploration, and budding sense of self. The angel also feels the
child's frustrations and gives extra support when he faces challenges to his self-esteem.
How important it is for the child to fell comfortable about talking with this lifelong
friend.
As the growing child becomes a teen...suddenly, and yet by almost imperceptible degrees,
the child enters that fragile and wonderful never-never land. If she has an abiding
friendship with her angel, this may become the one friend who will never desert her when
moods or fashions change, an ally to support her in times of turbulence. These years bring
new awakenings of sophistication, independence, and intellectual questioning. How
important it is for teenagers to hold on to their trusting friendships with their guardian
angels.
When we are adults...we may need to give ourselves permission to continue praying to our
guardian angels. It is sad to think how many of us feel we should outgrow them. Yet, we
never outgrow our need for this relationship of unparalleled trust and support. Our
guardian angel wants to help us be good parents, to develop our qualities of wisdom,
patience, and inspiration. Our angel also enjoys coaching us as spouses and partners, to
help us be loyal and trusting, romantic and practical, each in its own turn. And, at times
when the little child inside us needs attention, our angel responds to our call for help,
lifting us up and reminding us that we are loved.
As we approach the end of our years...we begin to reminisce with our angel about times
gone by. This is our most loyal companion, the one who has remained with us through all of
life's trails, successes, missteps, and lessons. How delighted our angel is to deepen our
memories and to help us share our experiences with the young ones in our lives. How proud
our angel is to help us prepare for the end of our life on this earth and the beginning of
our everlasting joy.. |
